Lake BolsenaNothing could be lovelier to swim in than the limpid, clear, clean water of our local Lake Bolsena. Within half an hour of leaving Civitella you can be stretched on the beach or enjoying the view across the water from one of the charming restaurants at its side. The lake is 9 km across and is formed from an archaic volcanic crater which gives rise to its soft grey sand beach. No rivers flow into the lake, it is fed by underground springs, which ensures the purity of the water. One river leaves the lake at Marta and here you can find fishing and sailing boats clustered in its little harbour. The lake is a haven of peace and calm but you can also find access to water sports from Bolsena town and Marta.
