A twenty minute drive from Civitella will take you to the bottom of the road from Bagnoregio that finishes at a car park where you must leave your car and walk across the bridge that now connects the village to its surroundings. This bridge was constructed during the latter half of the 20th century to replace the connecting spur of rock that had eroded away leaving the village cut off and isolated. Tiny and tranquil, the lack of motor vehicles and other modern intrusions means that this beautiful spot is often used as the set for period films.
