Arriving at La Tana dell'Istrice

[FROM ROME] Take the A1 motorway going north in the direction of Firenze (Florence). Leave the motorway at the exit for ATTIGLIANO. After the exit toll station turn left towards Bomarzo. After a couple of minutes you will see a road off to the right towards Sipicciano, Graffignano, Castiglione and Civitella D’Agliano. Keep on this road for around 16 km until you come to a T junction. Turn left to Civitella D’Agliano (n.b. Castiglione and Orvieto should be to the right). Keep on this road until you reach Civitella. After you have passed the “Welcome to Civitella” sign keep going until you reach the main square of the new town with a large pink ‘Municipio’ building. The hotel is now about 400 m away, so if you have a large car, or are anxious about driving through narrow streets you might prefer to leave it here, in the free car park on the left. Then either on foot or still in your car, take the right after this square, down the hill past the Bar Millenium. At the next junction turn left, then drive very carefully up to the old town square through the stone gateway. The Tana is directly in front of you.
