The Tana dell’Istrice (The Porcupine’s Tavern) is a refined and elegant hotel in the quiet traditional village of Civitella D’Agliano in the heart of Italy, within easy reach of Rome and Florence. The historic centre of the village is a perfect example of one of Italy’s exquisite medieval hill towns, where you can wander in the cool of the evening away from the noise and tension of the big cities.

You’ll need a car, which can easily be hired direct from your airport. Once here you can visit Rome or Florence by train starting from the local station, which is only ten minutes drive away, and is on the main Rome to Florence line. The trip to the centre of Rome takes just over an hour, leaving you fresh for a full day of site seeing.

From this central point you’ll have a wealth of options at your finger tips. Visit the beautiful local city of Orvieto, the Etruscan excavations of Vulci and the many treasures of Tuscany and Umbria; or just relax in the swimming pool or nearby Lake Bolsena. The beautiful Mediterranean coast is also just ninety minutes away.
